Background

YouthTruth is a project that was started by a nonprofit organization called the Center for Effective Philanthropy, in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. They wanted to design a process to hear from students about what is working well and what is not working well within their high schools. 

 

There are three major parts to YouthTruth: 

 

• The Introduction. Framing the survey well is important so that students take it seriously, and they know that WE take the feedback seriously.  

• The Online Survey.

• School-wide discussions we will have later in the year about our school’s results and how we will respond to the feedback. 

 

 

Why HTMCV Decided to Participate

• This project is happening all over the country, so we are part of a larger movement that is  asking students to speak out about what is working and not working in their schools, what  your goals are, and what we can all do better to help you reach those goals. 

 

• We feel it is important to hear from you about what is working and not working at this  school. This is an exciting opportunity. 

 

• Now is your chance to speak honestly and anonymously about what you think is going well  here and what could be improved. 
   

• The YouthTruth team is going to take all your feedback and provide us with a report of the  results before the end of the school year. 

 

• We commit to sharing those results with you later in the year.
